OPI Chiffon My Mind

WHEN WILL I LEARN that I like opaque whites and not sheer ones?? When?!  The answer is never, because even though I really didn't like the last sheer white I wore, I went ahead and hunted down OPI Chiffon My Mind anyway.  And, eh.

This polish has pretty, pretty shimmer...in the bottle.  I've seen some on-nail swatches of it where the shimmer shows up, but I couldn't get it to show up in my pictures.  Other than the shimmer, there's not anything special about this one.  It's a sheer white.  The formula is actually okay for a polish like this.  I used three coats and had some patches, but I think it looks pretty decent anyway.  Buuuuuuut I would skip this one if you're still thinking about it.  It's just okay.

Weirdly I found it in this random cosmetics section of the hospital gift shop when my dad was still hanging out there.

Other news, other news...I'm sure there's something...oh right.  The Cavs lost.  Which, sad.  But all that means is that there's-always-next-year and also, it's Tribe time now.  Ah, the life of a Cleveland sports fan:

Other than that, just living.  Working.  Doing my nails sometimes.  Attempting to spend time in the sun, but it's been RIDICULOUSLY RAINY for the past, like, two weeks?  And this weekend doesn't look any better.  Sad.  Need summer.

But, hope all is well with you guys, and I will talk to you next week!

American Apparel Coney Island

Close your eyes and cast your mind back.  It's 2010 and American Apparel starts releasing nail polish; we all go apeshit.  Or maybe it was just me.  I ended up buying a lot of the shades and, as often happens for me, forgot about most of them.  All of sudden over the weekend I was really feeling a mod light pink so I started digging around for Essie Fiji, but I couldn't find it (I really need to organize).  I did find AA Coney Island, which I had never used.  So, is it love?  (Disclaimer:  super dry cuticles and don't know why because it's humid out and I'm oiling my cuticles all the time; also, tiny black specks on my middle nail...no idea what happened)

Ummm yeah, this shirt is everything.  I really want to link you to it because I feel like I'm going to get questions about it, but it's apparently so new that it's not on the Anthropologie website yet--at least not as I write this.  I picked it up on Sunday and the SA at my Anthro told me it just came in.  It's Maeve, which has recently become my favorite brand at that store.

You guuuuuuuuuys, ohmygod this is such a good polish!  First of all, I haven't used an American Apparel in like...I don't know...several years?  Actually, the last one I used was Trenchcoat, and that was in 2011.  Okay, anyway, Coney Island.  It's pink.  Almost pastel/baby, but not quite.  But god damn if I don't love it.  It's white-based, but darker than Essie Fiji.  I remember that AA cremes have amazing formulas, and this one was pretty good, but not phenomenal.  I would attribute that to the pastel-ness.  I did three coats here, and although the polish was a little patchy going on, it was still really easy to control.  Seriously, I don't know what's gotten into me, but I feel like this is going to be my color this summer.  I don't usually feel this way about pink.  I think it would make a great pedicure color (on me, anyway), and I cannot stop swooning over it on my fingers.

And that's all.  This is a busy week for me, so I don't know if I'll be able to throw up another post, but we'll see.  Until then, what's your favorite summer polish color?  I'm also digging minty greens right now.

Thanks for stopping by!

CLE!!!! or: All In Nails

Hey, all.  Sorry for my absence.  It's been a little nuts lately around here, but things are going well now.  My dad had some surgery, hung out in the hospital a while longer, and is now getting better in the comfort of his family room.  Hopefully he will heal quickly and be dancing a jig in no time (I'm not sure how likely this is but I like to think that that's what'll happen).  But until then...NBA Finals, y'all.  We're #allin here in CLE, and the prospect of a championship is so tantalizing.  It's great for us to have something positive to rally around, and I'm all about this city doing well.  So, obviously....poorly done Cavs nails were going to happen.

oh heeeeeeeeeyyyy

Little did I know that RBL Footpath (last seen here) would be the best gold for Cavs wine and gold.  Thanks Rach!  The wine color is old as hell.  It's one of those Sally Hansen Diamond Strength polishes that has the little rhinestone embedded in the bottle.  Do they still sell those?  I have no idea anymore.  But anyway, the color is Always Ascher.  The formula on both of these polishes is fantastic and the dry times are good even without topcoat.  Two coats for each.  I can't say this is my favorite color combination of all time, but it's certainly lifting my little sports spirits.

At an event at work last week we asked people to write six words about living in Cleveland.  I loved "just tell yourself Cavs in six."

Remy throwing shade because we were paying attention to game 2 and not him, but I like to think he was throwing shade at Golden State.  Want to see more Remy shade?  Follow us on Insta (@RemyRagdoll)

So anyway, win or lose this is a good thing for our city.  Of course I would vastly prefer the former outcome, but even now the atmosphere all over Cleveland is electric.  I've always been a proud Clevelander, but my heart is so happy right now.  I hope that all is well for all of you, and I'll be back next week (probably?).  Bye!
